WELCOME TO MIYA-CHAN'S WORLD
Miya-chan
Yamamoto is an eight year-old girl living in Kyōto Japan, during the late Shōwa
period (the Japan of the late 1950s and early 1960s) with her mother, father, her
wise grandfather, Dr. Yamamoto, and some very unusual pets, and who happens to
have an equally unusual imagination. The creation of noted illustrator,
journalist, and translator Aoi Tokugawa, she has appeared numerous times on
Facebook and is the star of the book Miya-chan’s
World by Japanese author Miyabi Tachibana, as well as the soon to be
released book, Miya In Dreamland. We
hope you enjoy this cute little Japanese girl, her imaginings, and her
adventures as seen through the eyes and pen of Aoi Tokugawa, as well as other
sketches and drawings by this popular artist.
